Ipad air 11 M3 Touch issue
I’ve been dealing with an issue on my iPad Air 11 M3 for 10 months now. The touch response glitch seems intermittent—working better on some days than others—and it has been this way since I bought it. Despite running several thorough tests and sending videos to technical support showing how touch input sometimes fails to register correctly, the solution Apple engineers offer is simply to wait for an update and "see if that fixes or improves the problem."
Already did Hard reset and factory reset multiple times, The issue is that it has been a constant waiting game; every time I check on my case with support, I get the same answer. I’ve been dealing with this for 10 months, and my limited warranty expires in September. This disrupts the workflow of someone like me who constantly uses multi-touch gestures in illustration apps. I’ve researched the matter and found reports from other users regarding grounding issues in this product line, glitches related to iPadOS 26, or perhaps a combination of both, this has made my ipad, unusable as a tool for my work. It’s the first time I’ve experienced something like this with the brand; I’ve used 6th and 9th-generation iPads without ever encountering these kinds of problems. I typically use apps like Procreate, CSP, Notes, and occasionally Sketchbook, and none of my previous iPads had this defect. I’ve really run out of options, as a replacement or refund doesn't seem to be a viable alternative—or at least, based on the tests performed on my iPad, Apple considers the device to be functioning "correctly" . I don’t use a screen protector—applying one only worsens the touch response—which is frustrating because my previous iPads didn't have this issue, yet using the Apple Pencil without protection clearly puts the screen at risk. It’s also worth mentioning that I bought this iPad in the US; I’m from Mexico, and there is no Apple Store in my city—only resellers and authorized technicians. Although the warranty is global, it’s disappointing to receive this kind of response for a premium Apple product. Is this type of response from Apple normal? I’ve primarily used Apple devices because of the responsiveness and feel of the Apple Pencil—which is why I’ve been patient—but now I wonder if Apple is actually ignoring these kinds of issues, perhaps because the percentage of affected users isn't significant enough to warrant a proper fix... anyway, I might just wait for iPadOS 26.6, though I don't have any real expectations at this point. Or should I try the beta for iPadOS 27? Is this hardware issue or software issue?
