MacBook Pro trackpad protrusion caused display damage
Protruding trackpad edges caused MacBook screen damage.
I have had my MacBook Pro 2021 since early 2022 and soon after that I noticed that the trackpad is not perfectly flush; the top left and right, and bottom left edges are slightly protruding, not enough to be seen but enough to be felt. Since it's my first MacBook and I didn't find anyone else with a similar problem I thought that it was normal and decided to do nothing about it.
Today, I noticed that there are two (non-cleanable) marks on my display, exactly matching the protrusions of my trackpad. Although they're only hairline scratches, they're noticeable under normal lighting conditions.
What should I do? Replace the trackpad to avoid further damage?
