Dark Mode for Pages to address bright white interface

These are strictly fellow user-supported, public communities and no Apple employees participate here. Thus, Apple is not seeing your request. The Pages application menu has a feedback menu item that goes directly to the product team — so use it for feature requests.

Considering how many years have passed since Apple introduced Appearance mode in macOS, it is unlikely that Pages will get that automatic dark background with white or user custom text color. Afterall, it took them 8 years to restore non-contiguous text selection — a feature that far more users complained about than dark mode…

If you have been observant, you will notice that Pages updates are more frequent this year and the majority of any feature updates are targeted at Apple Creator Studio subscribers, not the rest of us.

You may also need to change your overhead or indirect lighting to reduce screen glare. There was a time when I was a developer and had west-facing, closed, Levolor window blinds behind me, bright overhead lighting, and a large monochrome display that reflected both horribly. Although the overhead lights could be turned off, the reflection of those blinds was only minimized with sun glasses… 😎
