Apple CarPlay voice command not working with Apple Home app

I’ve got a 2026 Honda CRV with Apple CarPlay and a Meross Smart Garage door opener MSG150. I’ve done all the steps to assign the Smart Garage unit into Apple Home. The garage door appears on my touch screen in the CRV and I can open/close it via the touch screen. However, I cannot get the CRV Siri interface to work. The CRV Siri interface works in general when I ask for directions or weather, etc. and when I use Siri from my iPhone directly it works to control the garage door. In other words, the exact same command I speak into my iPhone works while when spoken into the cars Mike it does not work ; but only in the case of trying to control the garage door! I’ve rebooted both the phone and the CarPlay in the car and it still does not work. I’ve renamed the garage door twice. I spent 30 minutes with CHATGPT trying to debug it with the conclusion that it’s a Siri bug - but, I thought I throw it out here and see if anyone had a solution.
