QuickTime Player recorded audio too soft with BlackHole

I am using Quicktime player to record audio and video in some web browser windows for later viewing. I downloaded and installed Blackhole 2ch and then created a new multi-output device in Audio MIDI Setup so I could hear what I was recording as it was being recorded. Upon playback, the volume of the recorded audio is way too soft. Is there a way to increase the volume of the audio being recorded so the playback volume is more like the volume level I hear during recording?

ok. the only other thing I can suggest would be be to try and Start up your Mac in safe mode. then test. and then run the Mac in safe mode for about ten minutes. then restart your Mac normally. sometimes a safe boot followed by a normal boot can clear up issues.

please note that when you test it in safe mode, depending on which macOS you are running, you might not be able to test it out. using sequoia and earlier, the mac's sound is disabled while in safe mode.
