iphone 12 deleted emails return to inbox - yikes!

Also if you are using a VPN, the provider may be blocking your request to delete the emails from their servers, which means when the next sync is performed, it will just return back to your Inbox. Turning one off may not solve that problem and you would want to remove to test.

Who's your email provider? Yahoo? Google? Someone else? If anyone other than Apple, you'd want to seek help from the email provider.
