How to Stop the Re-sizing of Word Documents

Often when I'm moving a word doc around on my screen it will automatically resize itself to go full-screen. I want to stop it from doing this. I see that there is a set of commands under the "Window" pull-down menu that relate to this feature, but I want to deselect or disable this feature altogether. Is that possible? I haven't been able to find anything in the preferences. This is in Word for Mac, 16.101, on a MacBook Pro running Tahoe 26.5.2.
