MacBook Air: Can't upload Lumix photos to Facebook

Hi I am currently with Mac Air using Tahoe. I tried to upload photos to my facebook account but it kept saying I should select a file and then that it couldn't upload. This hasn't happened before. I used a Lumix camera and a usb port device to plug in the SD card and then plugged that in. Nothing would work. No photo would upload. Sorry I can't explain it any better than that. It's usually easy to do. I haven't used my Lumix camera for a few months. Thanks

Maybe you could explain it better than that. It would be helpful to know the exact steps you took, which buttons you pressed, what the response to each was. I don't do Facebook, but we may be able to help if you tell us more.

I mean, if I want to sent a picture to Google Photos, for instance, I click on "Upload a File," and it takes me to a "Choose a File" dialog. Then I can navigate to a folder on my Mac, or I can go to the bottom "Media" section for the "Photos" choice

where I can pick pictures from my Photos Library.

What do you do that's different, and where does it fail to work?

Also,

  1. Do you have more than one Photos Library?
  2. Where does your Mac's Photos Library reside-- in the Pictures folder of your internal drive, or on an external drive? or on a network? on iCloud drive?
  3. Are you using iCloud Photos to synchronize your devices? If so
  4. …Do you have “Optimize Storage” checked in Photos’ Settings
  5. …Do you see all your Mac’s Photos  pictures at iCloud.com?
  6. …Have you checked to see if the Apple Account is really really the same on the Mac and at iCloud.com?
  7. …What is your storage at iCloud.com? At System Settings>[name]>icloud>Storage , my Mac says 176 GB of 200 GB used. What does yours say?
  8. What is your storage on this Mac? At System Settings>General> Storage, my Mac says 745 GB of 1TBB used. What does yours say?

I have used 174 GB of 494GB. You seem to be focused on icloud. I don't use it much. I explained that the normal steps I take to post photos were not working. I was using my mac air, not phone. There's no problems posting on my phone. After selecting photos and clicking I was told 'no file selected' then told to upload a file, which I tried to do, to no avail. I am not a software technician.

Well, no, I'm not focused -- I'm having to ask because you didn't include the information originally.

I don't use it much.

I don't believe I asked how much you used iCloud. Are you connected to iCloud Photos? Is that turned on? Read the questions carefully. I only asked what I needed to know.

I explained that the normal steps I take to post photos were not working.

Yes you did, but you didn't say what your normal steps are.

I was using my mac air, not phone. There's no problems posting on my phone.

Hence, my never mentioning a phone.

After selecting photos and clicking I was told 'no file selected' then told to upload a file, which I tried to do, to no avail. I am not a software technician.

I'm not sure what's going on here. I just asked which buttons you click on and how your Mac was set up. The AI-Mind-Reading app is not functional. I believe you have answered only one of my questions.
