Can not edit audio in iMovie 10.4.4, since no waveform viewer, nor detach audio.

I used iMovie with the waveform viewer below the video clip. It was at the bottom of the main window. Now it is tiny and below the thumbnail in the left panel. How do I move this back to the bottom where it is large enough to actually be used (ie: dragging volume up/down, editing, splicing, etc)?

Someone referred to the "Detach Audio" choice, which I do recall having used in the past, but this does not appear any where in the entire window, which I verified after checking everything I could click/control-click on twice, but it is no where to be found.

Are these 2 things related?

I also read someone suggest resetting iMovie window to defaults, which I attempted, but that menu item is grey.
