How do I fix control center volume meter not changing in GarageBand on iPhone?

Hello! Recently I discovered an issue where when changing the volume via the control center doesn’t change the actual volume. For example if I go into garageband and change the volume there, it works fine, but the volume meter in the control center won’t change and is now rendered useless at the moment.

If there is there a way I can go about and fix this please tell me, and thank you to whoever answers!

You have posted within the iPad User Community. As such, perhaps you are experiencing a problem with an iPad - as opposed to an iPhone? The following troubleshooting steps are applicable to both iPad and iPhone...

Ensure that you have updated to the most recent version of iPadOS/iOS - at the time of writing, this being iPadOS/iOS 26.5.2.

If you have already updated to the most recent version of the OS, and your device is not operating as expected, try a forced-restart - as this will often clear an isolated or post-update software issue:

Force restart iPad - Apple Support

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

If the problem persists after performing the restart, it may be necessary to reset your device settings. While this reset will not cause any loss of data, as a precaution, it is always wise to ensure that you have a current iCloud or iTunes backup before performing the reset:

When you are happy to proceed, you can perform the reset from device settings:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset All Settings

If the problem still doesn’t clear, the next step is to reset the device to factory settings:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

Otherwise, you would be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page. Alternatively you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to provide hands-on assistance with troubleshooting:

Should you have a repeatable issue, you might be well advised to submit a Bug Report via Apple's Product Feedback portal.  For iPad and iPadOS:

Feedback - iPad - Apple

Feedback - iPhone - Apple

When submitting a Bug Report, please ensure that you include details of your device model and installed version of iPadOS/iOS within the body-text of your report along with details of the problem.  Do not rely upon the pick-list alone - as this rarely includes the current version.

Every Bug Report counts. Unless reports are submitted (with adequate detail), Apple may not assign resources to investigate and correct the issue.

In addition [i.e., not as a substitute] to submitting a Bug Report, you might also consider seeking assistance directly from Apple Support.  You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page; you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App.  If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:
