How to download free Word and Excel for Ventura 13.7.8 on iMac 2017?

Microsoft does not offer free versions of their Office products. They do offer free web version access that you use in their cloud, but are not local to your Mac. Since Microsoft no longer supports their Office products on macOS Ventura, you will not be able to install any local Microsoft Office product.

A free alternative could be the LibreOffice Suite, which is a clone of Microsoft Office. There are separate Intel and Apple Silicon versions offering competent document compatibility. Though LibreOffice is offered in the Mac App Store, I obtain it from their linked site, and have done so for years.

Look at the previous posts in this thread for links (LibreOffice) that provide an alternative installed Office app solution to Ventura.

I have an old iMac and have upgraded the OS to Ventura 13.7.8 and need spreadsheet app and word app to install on my machine. I ave found that numbers and pages do not run under my version of Mac OS. Any suggestions without buying a new machine?
