If your laptop powers off when you disconnect the power adapter (assuming the battery still has sufficient charge), then it indicates some sort of hardware issue with the laptop which will need to be repaired.....most likely a bad battery which would not be surprising for a 3 - 6 year old laptop. Have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop to confirm a specific hardware failure & to provide you with a repair estiamte.

Please rephrase your question so your issue can be understood. Your one line post is garbled and can be interpreted different ways.

  • "it stops" Do you mean that the charging of the battery stops? If so, stopping at or near 80% is normal as that is how optimized battery health management works.
  • "it stops" Do you mean the computer shuts down? If so, you need to take it in for service.
  • "30W cable disconnects" What do you mean here? Does the charging stop with the charging cable connected with a 30W charger? If it stops close to 80%, as explained above, that is normal.

No one can really help you here unless you explain clearly what the problem is. Otherwise we are just guessing what you wanted to say.
