Reformatting external drive with two entries in Disk Utility

Disk utility on my macbook pro running ventura shows two entries for my external hard drive, a main entry and a subentry. If I want to reformat the drive, which do I select?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 13.7

In Disk Utility you first click View > Show All Devices.

Then you select the external drive ...Media in the sidebar. That is what you must select to erase the entire drive.
