How to view metadata for photos shown on iPad screen saver

Sorry, but Metadata cannot be extracted/recovered from Lock Screen or Home Screen wallpaper images. The only way to examine image metadata is from the original image that was used to set the wallpaper.

To be absolutely clear, any metadata will be available only from the original image - not the wallpaper as set on the device.

Wallpaper images have no associated data to examine - and neither can the associated full-resolution images be natively extracted from the device - the latter most likely intended to prevent copyright infringement of the image(s).

Perhaps understand the Apple Support Community is a user-to-user technical forum. Contributors here are all end-users, just like you. Other than the site Moderators, Apple neither monitor nor participate here. As such, if you anticipate that Apple Developers will see or act upon your post here, you will be disappointed.

Apple does invite submission of comments and feature requests via its Product Feedback portal. If you would like to see a specific feature or functionality in a future version of iPadOS, this would be the most appropriate channel through which to make a request:

In other words, what you think you want, if someone finds your locked iPad they can examine the metadata of the image on the screen and find out everything about when and where it was taken, who took it, and other personal information. That doesn’t sound safe to me.
