Sorry to be late jumping in.
Likely what you see is due to the Neo having a more compact battery to fit in the smaller physical case, and meet a low price point. Mactracker shows Neo's battery has a 36.5 watt-hour rating. The battery in a current 13-inch Macbook Air is rated at 53.8 watt-hour. That almost 50% more.

That is a very accurate observation supported by data. Of older Mac notebooks, the only ones Mactracker lists as having similar battery specs to the Neo are 11-inch Macbook Airs as far back as 2012. They have 35 to 38 watt-hour batteries. Pre-Retina 13-inch Macbook Pros (2009-2012) had 63.5 watt-hour ratings. Those Macs were not running as demanding an OS as we have today yet had higher-rated batteries.
I think you are seeing what "entry-level" means. Quite a few people posting Neo frustrations here seem to expect the performance of an Macbook Air or Macbook Pro at a far lower cost. The specs do not support that.
Still I recommend you have Apple evaluate. All Neos ar still under warranty.
