iPad mini Calendar: Can't view/edit Month view appointments

Prior to v26, I usually viewed my calendar in the “Month” view. I was able to view/edit all information. With the latest version installed I am unable to view/edit appointments on the iPad mini using the “Month” calendar view? The view won’t expand. To view/edit all the appointment info, I must switch to the “Week” view. Is this an intentional revision or a glitch in the update? I liked the way calendar worked before the upgrade.

Thanks for the screenshot. The view on your iPad mini is similar to the one on my iPad Air. The icon you highlighted is different from the one on the iPhone. On the iPad it shows the incoming events in list view in the sidebar. (On the iPhone it allows one to change the actual view of the calendar.)

I’m not having issues with tapping an event in the Month view on my iPad. Try to update to iPadOS 26.6, which was released yesterday. Otherwise, delete the Calendar app and download it again from the App Store : App Store - Calendar.

I'm wondering if the iPad mini screen is too small. When I edit an event in the Month view on my iPad Air 3rd generation (10.5" display), I see that in Landscape mode the edited event takes almost the whole height.

Try to rotate your iPad mini in Portrait mode to see if you can edit the event.

I don't have an iPad mini but I suspect that due to its size, the Calendar app may have the same format as that of the iPhone. In which case, in the Month view, tap the View icon (see below) and choose Details. The events will appear in pill form with readable titles. Tapping an event will open it as expected.

I only view the screen in landscape mode. I can edit appointments while in the Week view. My screen heading and options in the Month view look like the page below. If I select the option I’ve pointed out below, I can view the appointment, I then select edit and it switches to the Week view. Before the upgrade to v26, I could edit the appointment by tapping it without switching to the Week view.

Installing the update and deleting and reinstalling the Calendar app did not work. The only way I am able to edit an appointment has become more difficult. I need to tap on the appointment in Month view repeatedly before the Week view pops up with the edit screen. Touch works fine everywhere else, so I don’t think it’s my screen sensitivity. I’ve thought about doing a total reset, but I hate having to reenter all my Wallet info when I think this is a programming glitch.

It still doesn’t work and I don’t know why I have to keep tapping the appointment to get it to switch to the Week mode. It all worked fine before the v26 upgrade. Do you know where I go to report the problem to Apple?

I'm really puzzled as to why it doesn't work in Month View but does in Week View. Which service do you use for your calendars? iCloud Calendar? Google Calendar? Other?

Great advice. I’ll definitely try that. I had an iPad Pro, but it was too heavy for me. I sometimes think the mini is left out of the testing phase.
