iCal: 'calendar not found on server' error

iCal shows error message "Your event couldn't be refreshed - The calendar was not found on the server."

iMac 24″, macOS 26.5

There are 2 things to check and the first one is most likely the case:

  • Review your subscribed Calendars in the Sidebar. The subscribed calendars are the ones that show a radar symbol similar to the WiFi icon rotated 90 degrees. One of them probably is no longer available.

Subscribe to calendars on Mac - Apple Support

  • Review the accounts you are using to sync calendar data. Open the Calendar app, then go to the Calendar menu, then Settings, and Account. You may have an account that no longer has access to its Calendar and you can select it and uncheck the Enable this Account option.
