2009 model iPod not recognized by M1 MacBook Pro Music app

My M1 macbook pro now uses Music application, previously known as iTunes. Although the iPod still functions properly running independently on my Bose external speaker player, the iPod will not boot up to the macbook M1 running on Tahoe 26.3.1.

All my privately owned audio and video files are arranged in customized play lists. I'd have to loose the playlists by erasing the iPod in an attempt to continue using the iPod with "Music" app.
