how to cancel all downloads in files app?

I clicked on download now thinking it would show me the files I currently have downloaded but it instead just downloads all files at once.

iPad, iPadOS 26

Well, not sure why you wouldn’t expect the obvious: “Download Now” will actually download files as it states, but I’ll let you work that out own your own.

As for downloading everything in iCloud, no, I can’t replicate that at all. Maybe some screen shots are in order. If you do have a glitch in the app, you can try a forced restart (Force restart iPad - Apple Support), and also make sure iPadOS is up to date.

In the files app when I open the downloads folder, then tap again on downloads a few options come up, one being download now and I clicked that thinking it would show the files I currently have downloaded but it instead downloads all the files I have saved to my icloud.

Not quite sure what you are describing, sounds like something in your activity is missing.
