Cannot adjust external microphone volume in iMovie

No Volume from External Mic for imovie

I use an external mic plugged into a USB interface and it records perfectly for Logic Audio Recording

I can see the USB interface available as an audio input for recording voiceover

However, the volume slider is all the way at 0 and I cannot adjust it, I'm unable to click and drag.

Any tips?

Have you tried changing the input volume in Settings > Sound > Input > Input Volume? The state of the slider in iMovie mirrors the one in the Settings app, so maybe you'll be able to fix, or at least find more information about, the issue there.

Re: Cannot adjust external microphone volume in iMovie

Sorry there have been no replies so far. (Not easy to guess which hardware model and OS software version you use for iMovie.)

____________

If using a Mac: See if you can choose the interface / external mic as output device,

(and / or, if needed, try using the input / output sliders there to adjust the volume)

Apple menu > System Settings > Sound
