iPhone 17 Pro battery health at 99% after 6 months

iphone 17 pro after 6 months dropped 99% is it normal?

I have been using my iPhone 17 pro for 6 months now and it currently has 162 cycles, i use a low watt charging brick (10watt i think) so it can somehow reduce stress on the battery even little. I also set charging limit to 80% with battery optimization. I notice today it dropped at 99%…. Is this normal?

It is normal to expect the Battery Health to decline about 1% for every 50 Charge Cycles.

Your battery has completed 162 Cycles, so 162 divided by 50 = 3.24%. So, it would be normal to expect that your Battery Health would be 100% minus 3.24% = 96.7% which would be at about 97-98% rounded off.

Another "rule of thumb" that you can use....although it is not as accurate as the method above......Battery Health will decline about 1% every two months. So, if you have been using the battery for 6 months, it would normally be at about 97% at this time.

Your battery is doing much better than normal. It should be between 97-98% at this time and it is only at 99%.

Lucky you. Congratulations on your very good luck with your battery.

Normal? NO, it's NOT normal. After 162 cycle charges, your battery should be closer to 97%. Send flowers to Apple. On average, for about every 50 cycle charges, you can expect about a 1% decline in battery health. 162/50 = 3.24. 99% is fantastic. You should be pleased. But you can also expect the health of your battery to continue to decline and there's no way to stop the natural and normal decline in battery health. When the battery in your phone dips to 80%, which it will at some point in the future (closer to 1000 cycles) that's when you pay Apple to replace the battery.

You can figure out how the Mac's battery is doing by using the information that I have already provided above. Here is the math again for your Mac:

283 Cycles divided by 50 = 5.66%. 100% minus 5.7% = 94.3% Battery Health

So, if your Mac's battery is at 92% now, it is falling just a little bit short of ideal, since it should be at 94%. But, I would not worry about this.
