Genmoji not working, Siri & Intelligence grayed out

Yes, you will need Apple Intelligence turned on for Genmoji to work. Being greyed out is usually due to an unsupported language or you have Screen Time restrictions (or managed by an Organizer in a Family Sharing group).

• What is your Language and Region at Settings > General > Language & Region.
• Are you a member of a Family Sharing plan?
• Have you checked your Screen Time restrictions at Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Apple Intelligence & Siri? You can turn off Content & Privacy Restrictions completely to remove all restrictions. If you are a member of a Family Plan, your individual settings will make no difference as they are managed by the Organizer.
• What is the exact iOS version you are using?

• Have your husband check the restrictions by going to his Screen Time and choosing you, where it can be verified that the Apple & Intelligence option is allowed under Content & Privacy Restriction. I would recommend turning off Content & Privacy Restrictions completely at that location.
