How do delete multiple blocked contacts on my iPhone. It seems I’ve an amassed 4000 of them and it takes forever to do it one by one.

Sorry, there is no bulk delete of blocked contacts on the iPhone, it is one at a time.
If you have a Mac using the same Apple Account, you can bulk delete the Block Contacts there by Clicking the first contact and Shift-Clicking the last contact, then push the Delete button. You can find the Blocked Contacts multiple ways on a Mac, such as Mail > Settings > Junk Mail > Blocked.

Good luck with that — Apple hasn’t responded to this issue for years!!!
I personally have 14,064 blocked “unknown” calls and emails which I have tried to sift through and delete.
Removing contacts is extremely slow; each deletion can freeze the interface for 5–15 seconds before another can be selected, or it just gives up and crashes the app.
My story 1st… iPhone 11 died and upgraded to 17. I had over 12000 blocks. With 17 limit of 3000 enforced. Agreed doing 1-a-time unblock not reasonable. Worse resetting phone back to manufacture setting not doable either. Interesting, just off the phone with Apple Support and using Mac solution do a not work?
So how does one submit an RFE, request for enhancement, to add feature that allows us to “group select” blocked contact entries for removal/unblock. Another thing would be to remove the enforcement of the 3000 limit that I had on my other Apple products. Thanks -B

Just because you submit feedback to Apple doesn't mean that the change is something they consider requires fixing. Sometimes the answer is "no."
