How to Update 4K Apple TV from tvOS 14 to tvOS 26?
I just received a gen one 4k Apple TV from eBay and it is still on tvOS 14. When I try to update the os it just fails. Does anyone know how to slowly update tvOS maybe by using a Mac?

Not possible to connect to a computer. See if you can do a restore, that will force it to install the latest OS. If that fails or anything else happens it may signal that there is an issue with the device. You would have to take it to Apple so they can run diagnostics and see if they can restore it there.

You should probably elaborate as to how it fails and in error msgs and the likes
these forums are user helping other users like yourself, it's sort of going to a physical apple store and asking other customers their advice
There is no error msgs it just says update failed.
