Face ID not working after updating to ios 26.6

Since updating my iPhone 12 Pro Max to iOS 26.6, I’ve been experiencing persistent issues with Face ID.

Face ID fails to recognise me consistently and repeatedly falls back to requiring my passcode. To troubleshoot, I have deleted and re-enrolled my Face ID nearly ten times, but the issue remains unchanged. The initial setup always completes successfully, but Face ID continues to fail during normal use.

I have also restarted the device and ensured there are no obstructions covering the TrueDepth camera, yet the problem persists.

Additionally, I have noticed that several other users on X are reporting the same Face ID issue after updating to iOS 26.6, which suggests this may be a software-related bug rather than a hardware fault.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, and is there a known workaround or an upcoming fix from Apple?
