iPad A16 Bluetooth to iPhone for hearing aids fails

I have severe hearing impairment and I wear AI hearing aids therefore I need to have BT enabled for my iPhone to my ipad A16. It worked on the old XR and also with my previous iPad but now I get the error message that it is not supported.

Your amazingly capable AI Hearing Aids do ALL the sound processing on the device -- all by themselves.

In order to get speech to your ears in Real Time, ALL the sound processing, INCLUDING AI analysis of sounds, is done inside your high-end hearing Aids. On that model, all that is required for AI to be used is to request Edge Mode PLUS.

"With a simple tap or adjustment through the app, Edge Mode+ zeros in on speech in challenging environments, giving you that extra boost of clarity right when conversations become difficult to follow. This feature puts control in your hands, allowing you to adapt to whatever listening situation comes your way."

There is NO Hearing Aid that I know of that sends sound data to an external device for additional processing. That would simply take too long, and introduce echos and distort what you hear so badly as to be unusable.

There DO appear to be external Tools like TeleHear AI and Gen AI Smart Assist that run inside the TeleHear APP on your iPhone or iPad, but these are not processing your sounds directly, they are simply adjusting CONTROL functions.

In general, you need to PAIR your hearing Aids to exactly ONE Apple device, almost always your iPhone, and use that one device for BOTH forwarding Audio for phone calls and alerts AND Control of your hearing Aids, like raising the volume or switching modes. you can also use the controls on the Hearing Aid to change Volume and mode, but these may be more cumbersome.

In general, only ONE Bluetooth device can be paired at a time, and if you want to use a different Bluetooth device, you need to unpair your iPhone first.

Let me know If what I wrote is helpful, or all that is just "word salad"
