How do I generate a 28-character recovery key for my Apple Account?

The 28-character Account Recovery Key needs to be generated before the Apple Account is inaccessible, not after.

Enabling the 28-character Account Recovery Key also completely blocks Apple from assisting with a password reset.

If you really enabled the Account Recovery Key for the Apple Account here (and no longer have the password or a trusted device), you’ll need to find your saved copy of the key too, or you’ll be locked out permanently.

Generating a 24-character FileVault Recovery Key is unrelated to an Apple Account recovery.

And as mentioned earlier, with three (Mac?) computers all (apparently?) logged into the (same?) missing-password Apple Account, at least one of these computers is likely considered trusted and can therefore receive the two-factor authentication code and perform the password reset.

Or are you poking at unrelated computers, seeking access into a different and unrelated Apple Account?

A 24-character key is for the File Vault on Macs. (Full disk encryption system)

A 28-character key is for your Apple Account.

An account recovery key can only be generated - or displayed in Passwords - if you are logged-in to your account via a Trusted Device.

What exactly is it you are trying to do, it’s less that clear from your post.

You’re logged-in to “some” Apple Account to post here; is it not the account under discussion ?

Are you perhaps trying to login to a Mac ?

You mentioned using a Mac. If you look in System Preferences or System Settings (depending on the macOS version), do you see your Apple Account shown associated with the iCloud account in use?
