Ios 26.6 update bugs or the hardware is damaged

I’d force-restart the iPhone first: press and quickly release Volume Up, press and quickly release Volume Down, then hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.

Also remove any case or magnetic accessory and test the camera and flashlight again. If the main camera still won’t open and the flashlight remains unavailable, that usually points to a rear camera hardware problem rather than a setting. The flashlight can be disabled when iOS can’t communicate with the camera module.

Since this started immediately after the update, Apple should run diagnostics before you consider erasing or restoring the phone. I wouldn’t reset it without a current backup.

I believe the message that appears on the iOS 26.6 update screen says something about Spotlight changes to prepare for iOS 27.

That might mean that the update completely rebuilds the Spotlight index (reverse index) of data on your phone. On Macs which had (slower) hard drives, macOS upgrades that caused that Spotlight index to get rebuilt could sometimes drag performance down for a while after the update ... letting the Mac sit, turned on, when you were not using it, for a couple of days gave Spotlight time to finish its background work and stop dragging stuff down.

You may want to leave your iPhone on (but "sleeping") and connected to power at night, and see if performance gets better after a couple of days.

Every update includes file indexing that performs in the background and it was typical to take about 4 days to complete. With 26.6, the message states additional indexing is being performed, so it may take a bit longer. Leave your phone plugged in and connected to WiFi overnight and it should finish quicker. Usually you will also see a message in your Battery Settings stating that the update is still finishing up in the background and it will go away when it has completed.

Do you have a VPN installed? That has also been problematic for many with poor network performance. Even turning it off does not help in some cases, and they need to be removed to test.
