TV app on macOS crashes when trying to play MLS

TV app on macOS crashes when trying to play MLS.

Each time any content in the MLS section of the TV app on macOS is selected to play, the TV app shows a small charcoal grey box in the center of the screen (rather than the larger black widescreen box), then crashes. Content in the Apple TV and Formula 1 sections of the TV app play fine. MLS will play (with the same account signed in) on my iPhone, and also will play on my Fire TV.

This problem was present 25-26 July 2026, and is still present 2 August 2026.
