Did whoever gave you the case purchase it directly from Apple or some other retailer? Did they give you a gift receipt? If purchased from Apple, accessories come with a one year warranty, so take it to your closest Apple Store and show it to them, but they may ask for a receipt, so ask the gift giver for it.
