I was sent something via email to the iCloud.com suffix but my email ends in Mac.com
I should still get it right? or do I need to do something else to receive it?

They’re all used, and all messages sent to any of these (that is valid for particular the Apple Account) will arrive at the same mailbox.

You should be able to get it, but If you dont get it you can always ask to have them send the mail again but then with the @iCloud domain
