2016 MacBook Pro 15-inch unable to update to macOS 13

I have a 2016 MacBook Pro 15-inch running Monterey Version 12.7.6. When I try to update to 13, the message comes back that my Mac is up-to-date. My brother's Mac is much older and he's got the latest OS.

Please help.

That Mac cannot run anything later than Monterey.

Monterey is no longer one of the "most recent three" supported by vendors such as Microsoft and Adobe – and it also no longer receives the latest versions of Safari. The current version of Safari requires Sonoma or later; and a few of the applications bundled with Macs (like Pages, Numbers, and Keynote) now require Sequoia or later.

Monterey is still enough to run current versions of

These may let you get some extra use out of that now nearly ten-year-old machine.
