iPhone 17 Pro Won’t Charge Partly After Barely Getting Wet At The Beach
I came back from the beach one day, my iPhone 17 Pro barely even got wet from the ocean, and now my iPhone wont even charge anymore on the one side of the USB-C cable anymore.
When I got back to my house, I went to plug it in but the message I got said there is liquid in the port when there was not since nothing came out of the port, so I believe this was a false reading, so I hit emergency override, but by the evening, the phone would fail to even charge on one side of the port, and when it did, it often does so intermittently. I tried force restarting my device, did nothing. Tried cleaning the port, did nothing. Initially it fixed it but then the liquid detected message came back the next day and the same behavior happened. Why would just a tiny bit of wetness damage my port when I have had previous iPhones near the ocean and no such issue? My port still works on both sides intermittently but one side occasionally stops working or is sensitive to disconnecting.
I have Apple Care+, will the Apple Store be able to just replace the USB-C port? What accessories should I get for my phone so I can close the port when I’m at the beach?
