iPhone not being picked up by iTunes 9.2.1 - fine on 9.2!

Any idea what could be going on here? I've justed updated to iTunes 9.2.1 and now when I open iTunes and plug my iPhone (3GS) in it doesn't even bat an eyelid!
Image Capture still recognises the iPhone and can connect to it to download photos ... but iTunes is playing dead!
Any thoughts are most appreciated.
