Mac Mini power button
Does anyone know why Apple put the power on button on the latest Mac Mini UNDERNEATH so you have to lift the unit to turn it on? Anyone any solutions?

Like many others when it came out, I too was preoccupied with this "problem".
However, common sense has prevailed and I just ignore it though I do admit to having bought a stand for ÂŁ4 but that was mainly to raise it in order to put one or more NVMes underneath.
It is ridiculously easy to tilt the back left corner to insert a finger and in any case you should only be switching it off every few weeks or so.
If you really are obsessed you can easily stand it on the screw top from a large coffee or similar jar for no cost at all. This solution is both elegant and good looking.
An easy way to make the Power button more accessible is the following:
They are Transparent Tubber Feet Self Adhesive Rubber Pads from Amazon.com. I put them on and the Power button is easily reached for turning on the Mini.
There are several options to help with that.
1) Stand the Mac mini on its side.
2) Purchase an after-market Mac mini stand.
3) Put some self-sticking rubber feet on the bottom.
4) Leave the Mac mini on and only allow the displays to turn off.
most computers apple sell are laptops where people rarely really turn them off just close the lid making them fall asleep
suppoes their logic is people would do the same with their desktops computers
there are hubs and stands and the likes which will make it easier to access the button

Only Apple knows the 'Why' of your question, and we aren't them.
But our friend, @den.thed, does have you covered on the second question. 👍🏽
Just to clarify my points, here are 2 very short videos I made last year outlining the problem and the solution.
