Issues with using Apple Devices App on Windows to do iOS update

To start with I can't seem to find who to contact within Apple support with my issue with the Apple Devices App on Windows.

This was the first time I tried to use the Apple Devices App to do an iOS update to my iPhone 15 Pro.  I was on iOS 26.5.2 before I tried the update.  In the past I used iTunes without any issues.  That functionality seems to have been removed from iTunes.

It took me five tries to download the 10.48 G file.  The download stopped at different points each time.  Also, the download speed seemed very slow compared to what I saw when I used iTunes.  Under iTunes I typically saw 400 Mbs to 500 Mbs.  With the Apple Devices software, I was seeing 60 Mbs to 100 Mbs.  Speed tests show I have lots of bandwidth to handle large downloads.

Also, during the actual update process, I got a “unknown error (1109).06B4.0000” during the verification step.  At that point my iPhone became a brick.  I was able to get things back working.  It took me awhile to get things back working.  The interesting thing is my iPhone on shows it is at iOS 26.6.

The level of Apple Devices App shows 1.6.4.90 (1.1540.23042.0).  There is also this showing Apple Mobile Device 1827.100.17.100.1 (19.4.0.10) and this Apple Mobile Device Driver 538.0.0.0.

My Windows level is Windows 11 Pro at version 25H2.  Running on a Dell Precision 3571.

Over the years I have also used iTunes to sync music to both my iPhone 15 Pro and an iPhone 7 from my laptop without any issues. I also would sync movies from my laptop to my iPhone 15 Pro without any issues. Again, I have used iTunes to do iOS updates for many years without any issues.

I guess the famous bottom line is that I think there is room for some improvement in the Apple Devices App for Windows. Somehow, they need to improve the download speed and also do a better job of doing the actual update process.

Thank you for the reply. I find it interesting that Apple does not follow the forum. I would think they would want to know what the user community is talking about. I'm on several other forums and the vendor monitor things and sometimes they reply to issues.

I'll try again to see what I can do through the Apple support network. As I stated in the beginning, I could not find any place to request help or guidance for the Apple Devices App on Windows software.
