Problems rescuing an old drive
Why doesn't' my MacBook Pro (Ventura 14.8.4) recognize a Seagate Barracuda 3T SATA 3 ½" drive I am trying to rescue data from? The drive was in my 2008 iMac desktop which died years ago. I bought a cable that was supposed to be compatible (with power) to plug into the drive with a male USB C to my laptop. The laptop asks permission to connect but the laptop does not recognize the drive either in Finder or in Disk Utility and the lights on the cable are lit - one red and one blue (which blinks). I have used these cables before to rescue a 2.5" drive from an old MacPro. I need help understanding why this might not be working and how to fix it. Thank you.
