Keyboard-sized blank space appears in apps after iOS updates

A blank space the size of a keyboard appears intermittently across many apps. I noticed this after one of the first few iOS 26 updates this year but it did not go away on 26.4.3 or 26.5.2.. it just happens more frequently now.

When this is happening, it can appear in safari on webpages like email, in messages, in photos. The colour of this blank space tends to match the page’s background colour.

This never goes away permanently, even after restarts or updates. Force quitting the app and reopening usually allows me to temporarily see the whole page, but it always comes back eventually.

The keyboard has not been triggered to appear and was not recently closed when this happens.
