Can't add recurring events to Hebrew calendar in iCal?

I've seen posts on adding an event to the Hebrew calendar. (Such as a Yartzeit for my deceased parents) On my iCal, my primary calendar is the Gregorian, and also shown is Hebrew. I then subscribed to a hebrew calendar. Looking at the main page of iCal, the subscription shows up on the left, and the boxes all have 2 dates, the Gregorian, and the Hebrew. Now when I go to create a recurring event, the prior posts suggest that I should be able to place the new event on the Hebrew calendar, but Hebrew is not among the choices for the recurring event. What am I missing?
