AVP Zeiss reader inserts: Preventing white specs

I have Zeiss reader lens inserts in my AVP.


They get stuff on them constantly and I feel like I spend more time cleaning them than using the AVP.


I have the Zeiss cleaning wipes and have tried several type of microfiber clothes, but that isn't really the point.


My question is whether anyone has found a way to keep them from getting stuff on them in the first place?


The main thing that gets on them is little white specs of something. I have no idea what those little white specs are.


When I try to clean them off then just make smudges and it takes me 10 minutes to clean them.


If I don't clean them off then I get white halos when using the AVP.


If someone can tell me of having similar experiences and how they fixed it I would greatly appreciate it.

Try this

Use a Dedicated Storage Case: Never leave your AVP sitting out on a desk or table naked. Place it in a fully enclosed, hard-shell carrying case.

Attach the Cover: Always snap the front cover/lens protector on when you step away, even briefly.

Clean Your Light Seal Often: Wash the fabric Light Seal cushion regularly. Old, degrading foam or trapped face debris constantly sheds micro-particles directly into the optical path.

Wipe Your Face First: Put on the headset with a clean face, free of fresh lotions, moisturizers, or oils that flake off upon drying.
