Unsolicited Apple account codes raise security concern

I keep getting text messages saying “your Apple account code is” and it gives me a code and tells me not to share it with anyone. I have not asked for an account code at all, yet I have gotten 7 such text messages in the last 2 or 3 hours. Does this mean someone is trying to hack into my Apple account?

It likely means someone is trying to sign in to your Apple Account.

Change your password immediately, enable two‑factor authentication and do not share the codes with anyone.
