Alarm issue from watchOS 26.6

Since upgrading my watch to watchOS v26.6, I am having problems with alarms. It used to be I could turn off the alarm on either my Apple Watch or my iPhone and it would stop on both devices. If I now turn off the alarm from my iPhone, it ceases to ring on my iPhone, but it continues on my watch.

If, for any reason, another notification comes in and covers up the watch notification of the alarm, when I clear the unrelated notification, the watch notification disappears. There seems to be no apparent way to return to the alarm notification to be able to turn off the alarm on the watch.

If I go to notification centre on the watch, there is nothing there in relation to an alarm, despite an alarm going off on the watch.

When I go to the alarm app on the watch and open it, there is no indication of an alarm going off, so no opportunity to turn it off.

The only way I have been able to turn off the alarm is to shut down the watch. This is ridiculous. Is this a new bug?
