OWC Blu-RayCDDVD no longer functioning on M4 Studio

My OWC Blu-RayCDDVD optical drive no longer mounts on my Mac Studio M4 Max running Tahoe 26.6. This has been a problem for a while now. The disk shows up on the bus, but when I try to view in Disk utility I just get the spinning thinking icon. Not even the internal Mac HD shows up. The moment I switch off the optical drive, the internal HD populates immediately. Also, the drive won't let me eject disks, I can only power off and hold the eject button to get this to open the tray. Sometimes if I restart the whole system it will work for a bit, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

System settings for Music have removable disks enabled, and under CD/DVD it says to open music.

O.k, so since it works on another Mac, it's not te drive eitslef that may be the issue., but something running on the Mac.

Try restarting the Mac in Safe Mode. If the driver works there, but doe snot work normally. then it may point to an extension or background process from some app that gets loaded at start up and messes with the drive.

If you have anti-virus, cleaning apps, firewalls or other security apps, you may want to disable them and uninstall to test.

You may want to post an etrecheck report so we may see what's running on your Mac and see if there's anything that might interfere with the drive.

Have you tried connecting it to a different computer?

Using a different USB cable?

A different adapter to plug into the Mac?

If its not ejecting its either stuck trying to read or simply has a mechanical issue.

It's entirely possible the drive, cable or adapter has failed.

You may also want to contact OWC directly and see if it's covered by their Lifetime warranty.
