FaceTime rear video zoom problem.
I’m on iPad Air m3, with the latest iPad os. Whenever I’m on a FaceTime video call, and switch to my rear camera, I can only zoom x8. When I click on x1 , it directly jumps to x8. Why there is not any in between?
The iPad Air rear camera lacks an optical ultra-wide lens or multi-lens hardware system. In FaceTime, the 1x-to-8x jump is a digital zoom implementation rather than smooth optical switching. Tapping the zoom indicator toggles between the native sensor resolution (1x) and a max digital crop/zoom limit (8x) rather than providing a continuous optical slider.
