Apple Devices on Windows 11 fails iPhone/iPad trust
I had iTunes installed on my Win11 machine for some time and noticed it recently stopped being able to complete a connection to my iPhone 12 or my iPad (10th gen). I saw iTunes had been deprecated for Win11 and I should install "Apple Devices" to back up these appliances. I want to add I have always been able to see the internal storage partitions on these devices, so getting photo's off of them has not been impacted and also implies the USB interface is reliable. Upon installing Apple Devices and opening it up, it will see either device when I plug them in. However, the "Trust" process never seems to complete. Apple Devices app just sits at the screen wanting you to press "Trust". The initial cycle for this appears to proceed normally, with the iOS device popping up the "Trust this computer" query and then the PIN and/or facial recognition entry. Then... nothing. Apple Devices on Win11 just sits at that same stage and never proceeds. I have completely disabled all security software, disabled the firewall, ensured the hosts file has not been tampered with. Nothing I can think of appears to impact the behavior of Apple Devices. I have reinstalled it 3 times from the latest version available. I have seen MANY similar complaints and have not seen any resolutions posted. I am now months out of date backing up these devices. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
