Mac Mini doesn’t show iPhone or Apple Watch charging status.

My Mac mini connects to my Apple Watch to log in. My iPhone mirrors when it’s in the mood. Why won’t the Mac mini widget display the charging status of either device? The charger is 18 inches away! Bluetooth is on. The widget uses Bluetooth from my Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard! They’re all on the same WiFi. What more do you need?
