An EtreCheck report should indicate a cause including displaying drive performance scores but, as this is an aftermarket drive, I'll add this: In my upgrading to SSDs, I found that you need to enable TRIMforce on the drive.
They do OK for a while without it, then Write speeds start to fall to half or less of their previous speeds. For one SSD conversion to a SATA 6 drive in a 2012 non-Retina Macbook Pro, it posted 500MB/sec for both Writes and Reads for about two years, then started to feel slow. The Writes had dropped to ~250 MB/sec and continued to dive as low as 60MB/sec, about same as the original, and glacially slow, mech HDD posted.
With the excellent assistance of our Grant Bennet-Alder, I engaged TRIM and, after some housekeeping, the speeds returned and stayed at 500 MB/sec.

Grant's contribution that led to a successful restoration was that you must do a Safe Mode boot after enabling TRIM. That's the housekeeping, AND you need to let the computer "soak' in Safe Mode for 20-30 minutes untouched before doing a normal restart. If speeds have not returned, repeat the "soak and wait" cycle.
The Safe mode thing was not working until I let mine soak. Later my son with an identical Mac did the same upgrade and found the "Safe Soak" was needed.
Even if TRIM is already enabled. you may still need the Safe Soak to restore speed.
