You seem to need Hearing Aids with FAR better iPhone connection capabilities than the model you have.

I don't see any easy work-arounds for this cluster of issues. You should have a serious discussion with your Hearing Aid Provider.

Especially if these are still fairly new, most 'Full-service, high-priced, high-touch' Providers allow an "approval" period, where you can reject the new Hearing Aids as unsuitable for your needs. If you switch to a different solution they provide, they should be able to accommodate that without ruinous additional costs.

I have done those steps as described by Signia before I start this thread, not solves the problem. I done more investigation, If the time between iphone and aid without Bluetooth connection is less than 3 minutes

then the hearing aid is reconnected immediately, now if the disconnect time is more then 3 minutes my BCT IX hearing  aid takes 4 to 5 minutes to reconnect to iphone. The result is losing important calls in this period.

If you decide to replace this device, recent Apple AirPods Pro models can function as hearing aids*, and — per somebody that uses the feature — work better than the other hearing aids they’ve tried.

I’ll ask them about their experiences when (if?) they’ve gone out of range of the paired iPhone when I see them again later today, and will post up details.

*in countries and regions where that usage is available and has been approved by regulators.

From what I can find easily, it appears that those particular hearing aids use the iPhone's microphone during phone calls.

It appears you already can not answer calls when the phone is NOT on your person, such as in your pocket.

[In my opinion] You need to keep your iPhone in range of your hearing aids at All times to avoid missing calls during the time you are away AND the several minutes after you come back into range.

Charge&Go BCT 7 IX. Both iphone and hearing aid are very new and I am trying to find a solution to the reconnection problem.

I checked with the person that is using their AirPods Pro as a hearing aid.

Once the AirPods Pro are set up as hearing aids*, the AirPods Pro operate independently.

They’ll also work as Bluetooth audio devices as while within range of the Bluetooth audio source, but the hearing aid function runs entirely locally to the AirPods Pro, and works whether within Bluetooth range, or whether yon.

*details:

  • in a country or region that permits AirPods Pro use as a hearing aid,
  • …and once the AirPods Pro initially set up using an Apple device,
  • …and assuming your hearing loss is within what the AirPods Pro can compensate for.

You are correct, but since I can’t have the Iphone with me all the time and then when the aid come close to the Iphone again I must wait at least 4 minutes until I can answer a call. I need a better solution.

At the first my mistake was to buy the Pure Charge&Go BCT 7IX witch doe’s not support MFI connection. I am convinced that Signia Pure Charge&Go 7IX does not have that problem with Iphone at all, since support MFI protocol. But in the other hand, with this Aid is impossible to connect to computers and other standard Bluetooth devices! That was my dilemma, and now I am searching for help.

I have the new Signia aid for more than two months and the new Iphone for a week, at the end if all efforts fail I will request replacement will the MFI model, I am not confident to succeed.

I am wearing hearing aids for more than 21 years and the phone as a tool became my second nature. Maybe for

the most of the people the Bluetooth reconnection delay is not so important.

Unsolved issues like mine can help the community to avoid the same mistake.
