The timing certainly makes the iOS update worth investigating, but I wouldn't conclude yet that the update actually caused a hardware failure. A display problem that appears immediately after an update can have several possible causes.
I’d also be careful about assuming there is a replacement programme. I’m not aware of a published Apple service programme specifically covering a white/green flickering display on the iPhone 13 Pro.
Before doing anything drastic, I'd:
- Back up the iPhone while the display is still usable.
- Remove any case or screen protector and disconnect accessories, just to rule out simple causes.
- Check Settings > General > About > Parts & Service History. If the display has previously been replaced, this may provide useful information.
- Take a photo or video of the flickering if possible. Having evidence of an intermittent problem could be useful if the display later fails completely.
- Contact Apple Support or an Apple Authorised Service Provider and have them run diagnostics.
If Apple determines that the display has failed because of a manufacturing defect and the device is covered, that's different from assuming every affected phone automatically qualifies for a free replacement.
I'd also keep the iPhone 14 Pro case separate unless there is evidence that Apple has linked the two issues. Similar symptoms don't necessarily mean the underlying failure is the same.
If anyone has actually had Apple diagnose an iPhone 13 Pro with this exact white/green flickering problem after the update, that would be much more useful information for everyone experiencing it.
