Numbers: How to insert a static timestamp based on a checkbox?

Will Numbers ever create a formula or function that allows a user to insert a static time stamp based on the checkbox in a cell? In Google search and Apple forums search, many people have asked for this over the years but Apple has not been able to this or wants to look into making this function available.

To be clear: In my Numbers spreadsheet, A2 would be a checkbox. When the box is checked, I want the B2 to insert the current date and time and not update to current date and time every time I open the spreadsheet.

I do not want to go through extra steps to achieve this and should not have to copy and paste into another cell.
